Your responsibilities will include:
Lockheed Martin Australia (LMA) is contracted to the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). As part of Engineering Support Contract (ESC), LMA provides rapid capability development services to the CoA on the Jindalee Over the Horizon Network (JORN) platform, using modern and predominantly opensource toolsets in an agile team environment.
Alongside, this rapid capability development, LMA perform an independent V&V test program to ensure current modelling of JORN System performance and characteristics, as it is upgraded.
The role of the DevSecOps Senior Engineer within the team will encompass the full lifecycle of the task to be performed, while adapting the level of technical assurance to balance risk against the customer timelines. A key aspect of the role is the ability to adapt solutions to the needs of end-users and to maintain an awareness of alternate technologies that may be applicable to the domain.
You will primarily be responsible for:
- Performing ICT and DevSecOps tasks on a Linux based operating system
- Actively supporting software development teams by configuring infrastructure, identifying and deploying new tools, maintaining existing tools, performing system administration and cyber compliance tasks
- Resolving relevant problems identified during the conduct of software development, integration and test
- Supporting the development of junior engineering staff
- Ensuring ESC engineering activities are conducted in accordance with approved JORN and ESC engineering processes
- Executing tasks in an Agile software development manner
About you:
To be successful in securing this position, you will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution and/or relevant experience within the Defence sector
- Extensive experience working with DevOps technologies including Ansible, Kubernetes, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc.
- Extensive System Administration experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Excellent knowledge of Software Engineering process, procedures and the overall engineering product lifecycle
- Excellent ability to apply experiential judgement and lateral approaches to complex problem solving
- Current or re-instatable NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance
