Join our team as a Dewatering Technician and play a crucial role in ensuring efficient operations across our mining sites. At ABBA Engineering, we pride ourselves on delivering innovative solutions to the Construction and Mining Industry. With over 20 years of experience in the Goldfields region, we specialize in shutdown maintenance, onsite fabrication, dewatering services, and major project solutions.
This position is NOT a FIFO position.
This position is best suited to Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents who have already been living in Kalgoorlie region.

Dewatering Technicians @ ABBA Engineering
- Supervise daily setup and monitoring of the pit dewatering program site-wide.
- Perform dewatering duties in active mining environments.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on dewatering and pump systems.
- Perform necessary in-pit inspections of dewatering equipment.
- Install, maintain, and repair dewatering pipework and systems.
- Execute general Poly Welding duties including Electrofusion, Extrusion, Butt Fusion, and Wedge Welding.
- Apply problem-solving skills to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions for onsite pumping systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to WHS standards and site procedures.
What you need to have:
Qualification: Technical trade qualification in poly welding or relevant fields.
Experience: 2-5 years of dewatering or poly welding experience.
Licenses/Certifications: MR/HR Rigid Driver’s License, Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, and Construction Industry OHS White Card (desirable).
Clearance: National Police Clearance and satisfactory pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
Work conditions: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions. Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed. Overnight or multisite stays away for work will be required to fulfil the requirements of the role.
