Form of workWe are a local family owned Civil Construction, Concrete and Quarrying Company, specialising in all aspects of bulk and detailed earthworks, bridge construction, storm water drainage and stabilisation, with projects spanning throughout the Northern Territory.
We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified Diesel Fitter for immediate start. This position will be Darwin based but will require occasional remote work within the NT.
This position will be responsible for but not limited to servicing and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment.
The successful applicant must have the following:
- Trade Qualifications as a Diesel Fitter
- Current Driver’s License
- Construction Industry White Card
- Supply own tools
- Prior experience with and a good understanding of heavy earthmoving equipment/trucks
- Ability to carry out scheduled maintenance
- Be able to diagnose faults and rectify equipment breakdowns
- Ability to carry out major component fault and diagnosis and in turn carry out necessary rebuild or respective component replacement
- Be able to complete Service Reports and identify part requirements
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised
- Good work ethic and a good attitude
A high level of knowledge of engines, transmissions and computer diagnostic experience together with a basic knowledge of electrical components would be advantageous.
Hourly Rate is negotiable depending on ability and experience.
