Our client, an Australian-owned fresh produce company, is committed to supplying fresh food produced from their farms based in Queensland, Tasmania, and Victoria.
Your Role
On behalf of our client, we are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to support the Maintenance Team in all aspects of mechanical maintenance within the farming operation.
Based in the scenic village of Forth TAS, you will be a key person in overseeing the general maintenance of all the types of machinery – Kenworth trucks, Fendt and Massey Fergusson Tractors and other light vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to –
· Assisting all maintenance personnel including apprentices
· Conducting maintenance work on machinery, trucks, tractors and amenities as directed
· Collecting goods from approved suppliers in a fast and efficient manner.
· Maintaining cleanliness of workshops, yards, and surrounding areas.
· Using machinery where necessary i.e., graders, telehandlers, tractors, and light trucks
· Monitoring and providing information on stock levels and consumables
· Other duties as and when required
About You
To be successful in this role, it is important that you can address the followings –
• Formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (Certificate III, IV or Dip.)
• Current drivers’ license
• Current forklift license
• Basic understanding of the WHS procedures
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Knowledge of Hydraulic systems
• Excellent communication and problem shooting skills
For the right candidate, the annual salary package of $70,000 - $80,000 + Super is on offer.
