About the role
Our Workshop is looking for a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter to join our Maintenance Team.
Located in Wellcamp, just outside of Toowoomba, means this position will see you be home every night, working predominantly Monday-Friday and receiving a competitive flat hourly rate in a diverse role within the heavy machinery industry close to home.
About Us
Wellcamp Business Park is a self-sustaining commercial centre for a diverse and integrated business park supporting industries such as aviation, transport, manufacturing, commodity processing and warehousing and distribution.
The Business Park is home to Wellcamp Airport, Corporate Offices and Civil Construction sites, whilst servicing numerous external company facilities within the precinct.
Our Workshop supports the Maintenance team in delivering projects through works including trench excavation, bulk earthworks, road construction, installations and landscaping.
About You
You are a team player, highly motivated tradesperson, with a broad skillset who prides themselves on quality workmanship and servicing. You value the importance of working together and working towards the team’s achievements whilst possessing attention to detail.
Key tasks and responsibilities
- Working on a wide variety of heavy equipment including trucks, trailers, small and large earthmoving, and crusher machines.
- Carry out planned maintenance, attend breakdowns, diagnose and repair faults.
- Ensuring all maintenance is undertaken in accordance with manufacturer and internal standards / procedures.
- Adhere to compliance requirements including documenting all repair and maintenance information.
- Assembly of heavy vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Fault diagnostics on the workshop floor.
- Comply with SEQ system requirements and ensure all processes and worksheets are documented.
Skills and experience
- Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Diesel Fitter.
- Experience with heavy road transport, earthmoving and other mobile plant and equipment.
- Construction White Card.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while maintaining a safe work area.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work within a fast paced environment.
