Corpus Christi College is a co-educational K-12 Catholic college in the southern suburb of Bateman.
The College is seeking applications from enthusiastic and hard-working Learning Assistants to work with students with learning difficulties/disorders in our Senior School (Years 7-12).
Under general guidance, the Learning Assistant can be expected to perform tasks within the following range:
- Implement and report on a student’s learning support profile and Teaching & Learning Adjustments (TALA) in a team situation.
- Confidently work with an individual student or small groups of students under teacher direction
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the learning environment as required under teacher direction in the delivery of planned teaching and learning programs.
- Assist in co-ordination of delivering assessment adjustments for students as per learning support profiles.
- Support the maintenance and use of specialised equipment including mobility devices and supports, specialised seating, computers and digital technologies, augmentative and assistive communication resources etc.
- Use a variety of modification and adjustment strategies to support students to access class activities and assessments
- Assist in the care, monitoring, and supervision of out-of-class activities, which may include before and after school, recess and lunch time periods, sport, excursions and camps.
- Assist teachers with administrative tasks, such as resource preparation, displaying student work in classrooms, contribution to learning plans, etc.
- Other duties as required by Principal or delegate.
Qualifications required:
- A relevant Certificate III qualification
- Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to work towards attainment)
- Current Working with Children Check
- Applicants must actively support the Catholic ethos of the College.
