Qualifications & experience
- Prior experience service fleet equipment
- A current relevant trade/diesel mechanic certificate
- Knowledge of, or experience in tooling, supply management, mechanical inspection tools and technical understanding
- Well developed communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Time management skills
- Be motivated, well organised, punctual and pleasantly mannered
- Current driver's licence
Tasks & responsibilities
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspection and diagnostic tests, identifying working and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventative maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, controlling corrosion and completing winterisation procedures.
- Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting overhauling, assembling, disassembling and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems such as power and drive trains, electrical, air-conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and hydraulics.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems.
- Comply with Federal and State vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards.
- Enhance the maintenance department and Eifers' reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Competent of using an internal manufacturing systems.
