Job description

Are you a Dietitian that isn’t interested in a run-of-the-mill 9-to-5 job in the city, who’s looking to kickstart your career with a diverse caseload, individualised support, and flexible working hours?

Join the club. We’ve got hot pink caps and are off to the camel races this weekend.

What is Vital Health’s mission?

Vital Health is a leading multi-disciplinary Allied Health organisation on a mission to improve health access to rural, remote, and indigenous communities. Our intrepid team have made a difference for over 30 years, across an ever-growing 3000km of Queensland & New South Wales and have helped countless individuals achieve their goals along the way.

We love debunking myths about what it means to work in rural practice and pride ourselves on our extensive clinical experience, multi-disciplinary innovation, and person-centred approach to therapy. We believe everyone should have access to exceptional in-person therapy services, no matter where they live!

Why might you want to work for Vital Health?

  • Feel supported in your career with supervision and internal professional development to suit your experience level.
  • Enjoy a genuinely fun and supportive team – no need for exaggerated marketing schemes here… you come to a rural clinic for the adventure and a career broadening case load and stay for the down-to-earth culture and life-long friends you make along the way.
  • Attend Professional Development weekends away – where we take river cruises, visit vineyards, and benefit from the teachings of national thought leaders in Dietetics.
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech Pathologists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists & Registered Mental Health Occupational Therapists, and Allied Health Assistants to achieve your clients’ goals.
  • Feel supported by an experienced team of Admin & NDIS support
  • Develop a broad skillset more quickly than working in a city environment and develop areas of interest you haven’t dived into at Uni or on placement.
  • Work in a multitude of work environments – in fully resourced paediatrics & adults clinics, in community centres, schools, kindies, shearing sheds and via telehealth.

What you can expect from our position?

Comprehensive orientation, professional development, NDIS & admin training prior to taking on any clients.

  • Graduate Program for those who are early careers dietitians including consistent 1:1 supervision, Graduate benefits scheme and peer support.
  • Relocation support, rental support, flights and extended study leave available for proffessional development.
  • Opportunity to access up to $12000 professional development allowance in addition to your salary to support your professional growth and maintain our high-quality clinical standards.
  • Multi-disc case conferencing to problem solve complex client needs
  • Unrivalled remuneration; and bonus scheme for motivated individuals.
  • Opportunity to design your own career pathway that supports your goals for those with more than a year's clinical experience
  • Diverse caseload including adults, Paediatrics (including feeding), ATSI health, aged care, chronic disease and patients receiving Home Enteral Nutrition
  • Position based in Inverell – in the rolling hills of northern New South Wales!

Who are you?

  • You have a friendly and fun nature and want to make a difference to communities who have limited access to therapy.
  • You’re ambitious in your career and would like to use your pivotal first years of practice to develop skills in areas you wouldn’t normally get the chance to as a new grad.
  • You are looking for an organisation that priortises supervision, professional development & team culture.
  • You're keen to be part of a dynamic team who are passionate about what they do.
  • You enjoy challenging yourself and the idea of taking on a variety of Adults & Paediatrics and NDIS clients excites you
  • You have confidence in clinical decision making and problem solving.
  • You have formal qualifications in Dietetics, DAA accreditation and full legal rights of working in Australia.
  • You love the idea of working in a beautiful country town of Inverell.
