About John Holland

At John Holland, our purpose is simple, we transform lives with everything we do. We've always known that at its heart, infrastructure is about people - our customers, our employees, and their communities in which we work.

That's our difference. Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.
Be part of a team that thrives on rising to the challenge of transforming lives for good.

About the Project:

The Water Treatment Plant (WTP) Melbourne project is a critical initiative aimed at enhancing the water treatment and supply infrastructure in the greater Melbourne area. As one of Australia's largest urban centres, Melbourne relies heavily on its water resources to sustain its population, industries, and ecosystems. The WTP project is designed to meet the growing demand for high-quality drinking water while ensuring the long-term sustainability of and resilience of the city's water supply systems.

The scope of work includes the construction of five combined bioreactor-clarifier tanks and associated feed, waste activated sludge and effluent discharge pipeline connections along with ancillary buildings, pump stations and commissioning services.
The proposed works will facilitate the elimination of current high-risk maintenance works and provide the opportunity to implement lower cost, more energy efficient treatment technology through the short cut nitrogen removal process.

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Digital Engineering Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of Digital Engineering processes and tools within our team.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define and implement Digital Engineering strategies tailored to the water infrastructure project.
  • Oversee the integration and utilisation of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and other digital tools to streamline design, construction and asset management processes.
  • Develop and maintain digital standards, protocols, and workflows specific to infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to ensure the effective use of digital technologies including 3D modelling, data visualisation and simulation tools.
  • Develop and manage PowerBI dashboards and reports to visualise and analyse engineering data effectively.
  • Manage digital assets and ensure their availability and integrity for project use.
  • Conduct quality checks on digital deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members on Digital Engineering processes and software applications.
To be successful in this key role, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Digital Engineering, BIM coordination, or a similar role within an infrastructure sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of BIM principles, standards, and best practices, with hands-on experience in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, Infraworks, Revizto, or similar.
  • Working knowledge of ISO19650, PAS1192-2:2013, BS1192:2007, and other relevant DE specific standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and technology advancements in the Digital Engineering field.
