Your new role
The Digital Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for undertaking moderate to complex Digital Technology support tasks such as maintenance, upgrades and return to service of operational technologies, advanced system diagnostics, cybersecurity and fault finding. This role will work with independence, subject to limited direction against established priorities, practices, and methodologies to deliver quality outcomes. A key focus of the role is the oversight of the Digital Technology enterprise environment including providing support services to internal stakeholders.

Role and responsibilities:
Liaise with stakeholders to understand business goals and determine how they can be effectively supported to achieve positive outcomes.
Manage and administer hardware and software components of the Digital Technology user and enterprise environments, including major and minor upgrades, cybersecurity and periodic assessment activities as required.
Support the operational services of the agency’s Digital Technology Service Desk, including the provision of stakeholder support and routine maintenance tasks.
Maintain currency on new technologies and service management practices and provide direction on emerging Digital technologies and methods should be introduced, integrated and assimilated.
Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules and associated network expenditure as required.
Prepare and oversee the preparation of operational and technical maintenance reports, associated documentation, technical filing, planning, procurement and delivery while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

Australian Citizenship to be eligible to achieve and maintain an Australian Government National Security Clearance.
Solid experience with Windows Server, SQL, Internet Information Services, Microsoft 365, Azure, Defender, VMware, vSphere.
Demonstrated knowledge and extensive experience of implementing, administering, and maintaining hardware and software components of Digital Technology user and enterprise environments.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the ITIL framework and the ISM Commonwealth legislative and policy framework.
Proven ability to maintain currency on new technologies and service management practices and emerging Digital Services technologies and methods.
High level interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to explain digital concepts and technologies to business leaders, as well as business concepts to technologists.
Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively and build and sustain positive relationships with staff and a range of key stakeholders and clients.
Demonstrated ability to effectively balance team and individual responsibilities, manage competing demands and achieve outstanding results.
Experience with Information Security Manual (ISM), Protective Security Policy Framework and Essential 8 would be highly regarded.
