Come and join the Graziher team as our newDigital Journalist. This is a part time role, approximately 25 hours/week with an immediate start. The role is a work-from-home position as our team is spread across several states. 

A bit about us. 

We are a growing independent women’s media company, publishing content across print, digital and audio platforms. We are rural and regional women focused and this guides us in everything we do. 

What we are looking for.

As the Digital Journalist, you will play a key role in shaping our new digital platform and paywall subscription. It is an exciting opportunity for a journalist to cover stories relating to rural and regional Australia. You will be working closely with the Graziher Editorial Director to create content for our audiences. 

Tasks you will cover within the role if you join us: 

• Researching, writing and editing well produced and relevant articles on a deadline
• Use Wordpress to build and publish articles 
• Sourcing appropriate feature images for articles
• Using software to create graphics to enhance our social media coverage
• Sharing and scheduling content across our social media pages and newsletters
• Develop and manage EDM campaigns for a new digital newsletter

Requirements

• Absolute passion for storytelling 
• 2-3 years experience within a similar role 
• Ability to plan and manage competing deadlines and priorities
• Strong communication skills 
• Strong attention to detail 
• Positive and solutions-focused attitude 
• Demonstrated knowledge and interest in digital media, print media, podcasts and digital trends
• An understanding of content upload to a digital platform 
• Proven working experience as a journalist for at least 3+ years who has sound working knowledge of media 
• A genuine interest in rural, regional Australia. 
• Experience interviewing and maintaining key industry contacts and exceptional interviewing skills. 
• Keen eye for detail and ability to adhere to the style guide and editorial guidelines. 
• Ability to follow strict deadlines and fast check information
• Understanding of the editorial integrity of Graziher and understanding of the Graziher brand
• A fundamental understanding of what makes independent journalism. 
• Most importantly – you will have a love of journalism and for the stories you are working on. 

Essential:

• Computer proficiency (Google Suite; digital editing; database)
• Understand how to use Instagram and Facebook 
• SEO 
• Competent with WordPress and Mailchimp
• Good to know – skills in Adobe Creative Suite
