The Asia Pacific Newsroom is seeking expressions of interest from motivated and experienced Digital Journalists, looking to join the team on a casual basis. Under the guidance of the Digital Editor (Content), you will be responsible for pitching and delivering original and compelling international news and feature stories that resonate with ABC audiences, with a particular focus on Asia-Pacific issues and communities. A track record in international news reporting, digital production and a creative approach to storytelling is essential.
You will need:
- The ability to identify and suggest new story ideas, or fresh angles for existing stories.
- Strong editorial judgement and demonstrated ability to produce concise, accurate and engaging content for digital audiences.
- Proficient knowledge of world news events and a strong understanding of key issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
- Experience with digital news publishing systems.
- Ability to work independently, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- An understanding of key social media platforms and moderation processes.
This role will work across a 7-day rotating roster with some occasional overnight shifts.
