About the roleAs we continue to embrace innovation and connectivity, we are seeking a passionate Digital Platform & Content Specialist to join our team and leverage the City’s websites to engage with our community effectively. In this role, you will create and manage the City’s website content and deliver a modern, user-centric website that provides clear and accurate information that is accessible to all visitors. With the ability to make informed decisions driven by research and analytics, this role would suit a content designer with exceptional writing skills that is able to write succinctly whilst meeting accessibility and SEO standards.Covering a period of long service leave, this is a temporary full-time position from April to July 2024.A snapshot of your new role:Drive the City’s website content strategy to ensure a consistent and accessible user experienceConsult with internal stakeholders to determine content requirements, whilst promoting user-focused content designLead the content design and development process, including writing, editing and publishing, ensuring continuous improvement through analysing feedback, data and researchTranslate technical terminology and complex concepts into plain English that is clear, engaging and user-focused Manage the day-to-day operation of the content management system including training staff, providing first level support, and processing content requestsWho we’re looking forA relevant degree and/or considerable demonstrated relevant experience Substantial experience writing, editing and publishing online content for large websites, including overall responsibility of website curation (please note this is not a content marketing role)Specialist knowledge of content design and the customer experience - able to make complex language, concepts and processes easy to understandTechnical proficiency in using Content Management Systems, including a solid understanding of how they can be optimised to deliver content experiencesDemonstrated ability in developing strong relationships, including people leaders and senior managersProven experience performing continuous improvement of website information architectureProficiency in Google Analytics, SEO monitoring and optimisation and strong understanding of web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) and inclusive designWhy apply for this role?An opportunity to leverage your skill-set and ensure a great customer experience through modern, accessible and user-centric websites A temporary full-time position from April to July 2024$98,698.05 - $110,134.90 per annum + superMembership to Cannington and Riverton Leisureplexes (gym, aquatics, sauna, group fitness)Impact the Community in a Big WayCity of Canning aims to be a welcoming and thriving city, giving our people an opportunity to thrive through work that truly makes a difference!
