Job Brief
Ensures that the well operations are carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with the operation plan, procedures, and good industry practices. He has overall responsibility for all rig floor operations.
Ensure that he has established communication channels with the rig mud loggers and onshore support centers. The driller will immediately report any defective rig floor equipment. Ensure that all employees under their authority have sufficient information and knowledge to carry out their job without endangering any persons, plants, or equipment and are adequately trained and experienced for a particular task before they are instructed to carry it out.

Your main responsibilities
- Safely perform directional drilling requirements and housekeeping duties, as instructed, while developing and improving policies, procedures and practices.
- Responsibilities (Operational & HSE)
- Strict awareness and adhere to all HSE requirements of both client and the Company
- Strict reporting standards as per client and the Company methodologies
- Setup all running gear for RIH and packup for rig moves
- Proven experience with Mud Pulse and EM telemetry including field service and troubleshooting
- Manage well trajectories with tight tolerances to well plan
- Excellent communication ability and able to assist client representative at wellsite with advice and analysis
- Proficient in use of DD and well planning software including generating plots and reports to company specifications
- Active on site supervision of the entire process including logistics, running tools in hole and managing the entire DD process
- Managing IT infrastructure on site and liaising with the Company office staff to troubleshoot and rectify any operational issues as they arise
- Continuous improvement of operations, process and HSE
- On time reporting and excellent communication with clients
- Active communication with Remote staff and rectify issues as they arise
- On call in case of emergencies any time of Day or night
- Facilitate use of JSA
- Report all incidents to SSM
- Report hazards using site Hazard Reporting System
- Identify and fix minor workplace hazards
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field;
- Minimum 5 years offshore/deep drilling experience, preferably with LWD/MWD background;
- Knowledge of directional drilling techniques and processes;
- Ability to operate directional drilling equipment safely and efficiently;
- Excellent problem solving skills;
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written;
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team;
- Flexibility to work on different projects.
