  • Term: Fixed-term, full-time basis for five (5) years

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Director, Communications and Government Relations to join the Engagement Portfolio, Chancellery Division.

The Director, Communications and Government Relations is responsible for leading teams that oversee QUT’s strategic media and corporate communications; deliver the QUT internal communications strategy to support staff and students; and are the key liaison point with all levels of government for QUT.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training, and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a postgraduate degree demonstrated experience managing a communications function, or similar.
  2. Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team to achieve organisational goals.
  3. Demonstrated experience in Government Relations and providing strategic advise to a wide range of stakeholders on working with Australia’s government.
  4. Significant experience leading a communications function, with a strong understanding of media relations, digital and corporate communications.
  5. Outstanding communication, influencing, and advocacy skills to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including drive engagement within the sector and with all levels of government.
  6. Demonstrated experience in management of budgets and the ability to create and manage high-level projects that drive the success of organisation strategic goals.
