The Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security (DEPWS) was established with a clear vision that the Northern Territory's natural assets are managed sustainably for the benefit of all. Its purpose is to provide evidence-based advice and regulation to support sustainable use of the Northern Territory's natural resources, and protect and preserve its wildlife, parks and reserves.
Within DEPWS the Office of Water Security is a small team which has been established to advise the Minister for Water Security; coordinate whole of Government water policy and programs, and works collaboratively with other Government agencies to develop, deliver and report on the Territory Water Plan.
As the Director Community and Stakeholder Engagement your primary objective is to provide strategic leadership, advice, coordination and delivery of Community and Stakeholder Engagement activities aligned to the Northern Territory Government, the Department and the Office of Water Security's roles and responsibilities, in response to current and emerging issues affecting water security outcomes in the Northern Territory.
Your key responsibilities include; providing effective leadership, developing and implementing stakeholder and community engagement strategies, analysing complex and sensitive water security matters, and delivering strategic public policy outcomes. You will also provide strategic advice on water security, including reviewing and preparing reports, cabinet submissions and Ministerial briefings.

Your political astuteness and extensive experience in coordinating high-level projects and demonstrated strategic planning, governance and project management is essential.
