An exciting opportunity exists for a General Manger Community to shape and influence community wellbeing and lifestyle. The General Manager Community will lead and manage the strategic and operational direction of the Directorate to meet community expectations, deliver organisational key performance indicators and maintain financial accountabilities. This position will establish, cultivate and maintain a culture of collaboration, commitment and accountability, driven by a high customer service delivery focus consistent with the strategic direction of Council, underpinned by cost effective operations, use of Council's resources and a customer ethos of "people are at the centre of all we do and deliver."
The General Manager Community is responsible for the leadership and management of a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan, including Recreation and leisure, Community facility management, Regulatory services, Community development, Library services, Local history and heritage , Community health and wellbeing and Community grants.
This position is located within the fast-paced and busy environment and reports directly to the CEO. The position requires a person that will provide a high level of organisational leadership and decision-making through constructive and collaborative participation in Council's Executive Leadership Team, and spearhead the Community Services Directorate by driving capability, accountability, and outcomes through their proven success. It requires a person who is experienced, calm, flexible, well organised, and able to work under pressure.
