Salary Range: $140,226 - $157,418 (PN: 00029)
Working with Community Services Directorate (CSD) offers you the opportunity to directly contribute to supporting the Canberra Community. Everyday our diverse workforce collaborates and drives client centred services to assist the community in creating a safe and equitable environment across the ACT.
The Data Insights and Analytics team supports CSD’s drive for evidence-based decisions, policies and practice, and to improve its organisational planning, performance and accountability. This is achieved by supporting CSD to acquire, share, analyse and use the best-possible data and Analytics, and supporting the design of innovative, outcomes-oriented social investment approaches.
The Data Insights and Analytics team currently have a temporary vacancy for a director to join the team. The Director will lead a small team of staff to undertake the development, implementation and support of reporting on information across the Directorate, including Child Protection, Youth Justice, Housing, Inclusion and Participation programs and organisational dashboards. The Director will also contribute to the design, implementation and delivery of data for jurisdictional and national reporting, including the Report on Government Services, and a number of datasets which support National reporting through the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
Desirable:
- Tertiary education in a relevant discipline such as analytics, mathematics, finance or economics or demonstrated relevant experience.
- An understanding and knowledge of managing data and developing and reporting against performance and outcomes frameworks.
- An understanding and knowledge of human services portfolio issues is desirable.
- Knowledge of building reports using Microsoft Power BI.
Notes: This is a temporary position available for eight months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
