About the Role

Reporting to the Director: Enterprise Partnerships, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and coordination of the University of South Australia’s (UniSA’s) engagement with the defence and space sectors including opportunities related to the AUKUS security partnership.

Driving and coordinating high quality University wide outcomes you will ensure UniSA generates revenue from educational, training, research and innovation partnerships with companies and Government agencies in the defence and space sectors domestically and internationally.

Representing UniSA in the engagement of defence and space organisations and Government, you will support defence and space related activities including university activities related to AUKUS security partnership whilst strengthening the position of UniSA as an internationally renowned higher education partner through strategic leadership and the provision of guidance and advice.

About the UniSA Enterprise Hub

The UniSA Enterprise Hub acts as the industry front door for UniSA and unites industry partners with UniSA researchers, educators and students on activities that solve real problems, drive progress and shape business and community prosperity in South Australia and beyond. It brings together the experience and expertise of UniSA Ventures, the Innovation & Collaboration Centre (ICC), Business Development and Research Services to support a range of activities from start-ups to mature business regeneration and commercialisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Outstanding record of achievement in Defence, Government or University sectors focussed on business development or related disciplines.
  • Exceptional understanding of industry, professional, and government environments in Australia and internationally in relation to defence and space
  • Proven ability to establish partnerships with industry and collaborate with national and international organisations in areas related to research and development
  • Demonstrated capability in leading large programs of work, tender management, business development and the generation of income
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans and leading and guiding teams to achieve strategic outcomes
  • Has or is eligible to obtain security clearance NV1
