Lead a dedicated team to make a tangible impact on community infrastructure in a supportive work environment.Dungog is known for its relaxed and friendly country lifestyle with easy access to the World Heritage-listed Barrington Tops National Park with beautiful walks, mountain biking, overnight hikes, great picnic, fishing and camping spots.We support a growing rural community of over 9000 residents in the Hunter region of NSW located around an hour from Newcastle, circa two hours to Sydney and within 40 minutes to other great regional centres in the Hunter Valley such as Maitland and Raymond Terrace.As a growing Council, we are committed to ensuring the ongoing and consistent delivery of a range of important local services that are valued by our tight knit community.As our new Director Infrastructure and Assets, you will lead and manage the Directorate, overseeing critical functions such as the Asset Management Strategy, Roads and Infrastructure, Waste Management, and more. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Your responsibilities as a senior leader in our organisation include leading the Infrastructure and Assets Directorate, promoting teamwork and positive change, managing waste facilities and contracts, providing strategic input, fostering innovation and integrity, ensuring financial compliance, and maintaining stakeholder relationships.This is a full time, permanent position and comes with a competitive remuneration package along with great staff benefits, and a supportive work environment.Candidate requirements include a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or equivalent contemporary industry experience. Strong analytical abilities, effective communication skills, strategic thinking, and a dedication to workplace health and safety are essential.
