Director Infrastructure Services

Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council is seeking an experienced and highly engaged Director Infrastructure Services to lead the Directorate through a period of renewal and growth.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Infrastructure Services will lead departments responsible for Transport, Water, Sewer, Waste, Facilities and Logistics, ensuring a community-focused approach to service delivery.  The ideal candidate will be an outstanding leader of people, with strong strategic, project management and operational capability.

Key Responsibilities
· Provide strong, decisive leadership of the Directorate that inspires others to share ownership, accountability and contribution to Council’s vision and goals.
· Provide strategic leadership in the planning and delivery of contemporary future-focused Infrastructure Services to meet community needs and emerging issues.
· Build a positive workforce environment and culture with a focus on performance and the building of workforce capability.
· Ensure the delivery of high-quality Infrastructure Services for Council’s customers and communities.
· Planned stakeholder engagement that prioritises engagement, collaboration and partnership with the Council’s key external relationships.

Skills and Qualifications
· Experience in a similar role leading an Infrastructure Services directorate within government including infrastructure program, project and operations management.
· Experience working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in a government setting to progress positive outcomes for the benefit of the organisation and community.
· Demonstrated experience delivering complex infrastructure projects including project management, contract management, financial management and stakeholder engagement.
· Proven ability to effectively manage a workforce with a focus on performance, building capability, fostering a positive work environment and cultivating a culture aligned with Council’s vision, mission and strategy.
· Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent, and engineering leadership experience.
