Work for a leading marketing organisation building long-term profitable relationships between brands and their customers to achieve excellence and market domination. Due to continued success our client is looking for a talented Director of Infrastructure & Operations to manage the implementation and operation of all technology infrastructure deployed for the enterprise and client including data centre, network and server services, telephony, service monitoring, user support/helpdesk, work station management, servers storage and related software.
This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security for all IT systems and infrastructure. This position will lead the Infrastructure and Operations teams with overall responsibility for technology infrastructure planning and deployment of technology services. This hands-on position will be required to develop and lead the engineering and support team, make technical decisions and work closely with cross functional business areas and IT groups.
To be successful, this role requires excellent Organisational, analytical, problem solving, presentation, and communication skills. In addition to leadership, decision making, facilitation, and negotiation skills. Act as a subject matter expert to IT and business leaders on best practices.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading this company to the next generation of infrastructure and operations with global partners, product Organisations and the APAC business management.
- Leading services innovation in infrastructure and operations with global partners, product Organisations and the APAC business management.
- Innovating the infrastructure and operations operating model to keep operating expenses at benchmark levels within the industries and competitive eco-systems where our client operates.
- Solving problems in infrastructure and operations with global partners, product Organisations and the APAC business management.
- Envision the infrastructure and operations strategy to the organisation and, as a member of the APAC IT Leadership Team, special projects as assigned from time to time to build future business models and capabilities.
- Energise the organisation to operate as a business itself with a P&L mind-set.
- Enable the business direction of APAC’s IT Organisation and partners to follow industry standards in ITIL/ITSM, leveraging best-in-class tools, measured by SLAs and OLAs.
Essential skills and experience:
- 5 or more years’ experience managing in an outsourced vendor relationship providing application development and maintenance services
- Proven experience managing both internal resources and consultants (this also includes outsourced Infrastructure partners working in both staff augmentation and project based delivery models)
- Can work with senior management and executives, as well as IT vendors and outsourcing Organisations
- A university degree in Computer Science or the equivalent systems experience demonstrated by progressive responsibilities
- 12+ years’ total experience, including 6+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise environment, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection and 4+ years’ experience with high availability networks and replicated disaster recovery architectures.
Desired skills and experience:
- Extensive knowledge of outsourced data center operations, telecommunications, network engineering, data center applications, client/server computing, and production operations support.
- Experience in related IT disciplines such as high availability data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration and outsourced systems.
- Strong leadership and management abilities. Ability to lead cross functional project teams in implementing projects of a complex nature.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level. Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives.
- Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services they enable as well as the criticality of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT.
- Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and priorities, and to redirect managers and teams toward new objectives.
- Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions
- Ability to see the “big picture” across such areas as private and public hosted infrastructure and services, identity management, security, telecommunications, enterprise storage and big data opportunities, end user experience, and training/education.
- Functional understanding of project management principles and their application to Infrastructure projects and teams. Formal project management expertise preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
