A Director of Internal Medicine opportunity at Bunbury Hospital awaits.
This a recruitment to fill a vacancy for 1 Fixed Term Full-Time 5 year appointment, with the possibility of extension(s).
POSITION PROFILE
As Director of Internal Medicine, you will be responsible for leading one of the largest admitting teams at Bunbury Hospital incorporating General Medicine and Geriatrics. You will also lead strategies to support increasing access to specialist care closer to home for country patients through the development of sub-specialty models alongside a service planning team. Recognising the growing and ageing population of the South West and the increasing prevalence of chronic conditions and frailty Bunbury Hospital is looking for leadership to support contemporary, innovative models of care based on strong partnerships and integration.
As Director Internal Medicine you will be responsible for ensuring multidisciplinary coordination of patient care working collaboratively with relevant Clinical Nurse Managers, Allied Health leads and other key stakeholders.
The Director will actively be involved in the monitoring, recruitment and retention of medical staff within the department, undertaking annual performance reviews and ensuring new medical staff especially junior medical staff are always appropriately supported and supervised.
The Director will lead a culture of continuous quality improvement, research activities and lifelong learning aligned to the Bunbury Hospital Teaching, Training and Research hub. They will contribute to continuous quality improvement activities by identifying, facilitating or participating in practices in accordance with the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, health service strategic direction and the WA Public Sector.
