You will support the provision of affordable, high quality patient care through:
- The provision of strategic and operational financial management and expert financial advice in support of the hospital's Executive Director.
- Highly professional business management advice to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) underpinned by appropriate analysis, narrative and recommendations enabling the delivery of quality, cost effective services that are consistent with the strategic and operational directions of the hospital and the broader health service.
- Timely provision and coordination of business planning for the hospital underpinned by a strategic approach to budgeting and forecasting.
- Development and implementation of strategic financial and business management systems, including management information to enhance hospital performance and unlock value.
- Maintaining appropriate reporting systems, policies procedures and guidelines to facilitate effective performance, financial and resource management.
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated functional leadership experience in finance activities
- High level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify risk and opportunity, analyse and interpret data, and report on performance, exceptions and trends using innovation and continuous improvement which impact upon the facility. A high level of financial and commercial acumen and a strong systems and conceptual thinker.
- Ability to lead including the demonstrated ability to develop innovative, sensitive and practical solutions and provide strategic advice to complex issues.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to persuade others to adopt particular procedures, methods or strategies, where there are conflicting interests and opinions, appropriate to a senior leadership role including the ability to provide objective and authoritative advice to all levels of management within a facility.
- High-level ability to supervise, manage, mentor and inter-relate with staff in line with quality and contemporary human resource management practices including Performance Management, Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity, Anti-Discrimination and the Code of Conduct to deliver high quality health services. Proven leadership skills including driving change and fostering desired culture and employee engagement
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, policy and procedures applicable to financial management which includes, but is not limited to experience and proven skills in Casemix, financial accounting, budgeting, costing and management accounting.
