The Director, Corporate Services provides senior management leadership and direction across a range of performance-enabling functions that are critical to the success of the Queensland Human Rights Commission (QHRC). This role is a member of the Executive Leadership Team, as well as other sub-committees and leadership forums.
With strong business acuity, the Director, Corporate Services will lead the Commission’s planning and budgeting cycles as well as the development of critical frameworks and processes across a broad portfolio of Corporate Services.
The Director, Corporate Services will have the following key responsibilities:
- Actively participate as a member of the Executive Leadership Team to shape, drive and deliver on the strategic direction of the Commission.
- Lead the delivery of a broad range of strategic and operational corporate support and performance enabling services, with a focus on linking operational performance to strategy.
- Provide strategically aligned, informed and evidence-based advice and support to the Commissioner, other executives and leaders within the Commission.
- Lead development and delivery of a Commission-wide People and Culture Strategy, encompassing strategies across recruitment, people management, professional development and workplace culture.
- Ensure effective service delivery across human resources functions, provide people management advice to Commission leaders, and lead the delivery of industrial relations advice and matters.
- Lead, develop and embed QHRC's dedicated governance, risk and reporting function and frameworks, demonstrating best practice change management to support effective implementation, understanding and adherence.
- Identify opportunities and lead improvement initiatives to positively influence organisational effectiveness and capability (i.e. ICT, governance, risk and reporting, finance, procurement and contracts, human resources).
- Oversee and ensure progression of significant programs of work, such as ICT system upgrades and change projects, to ensure alignment to QHRC needs, priorities and objectives.
- Identify opportunities to uplift data management and business intelligence systems and practices in line with the evolving requirements of the Commission and to elevate performance, accountability and understanding.
- Actively engage in collaborative working relationships across partner agencies and service providers ensuring QHRC obligations and support requirements are understood and responded to, and service agreements are optimised.
- Model, influence and uphold a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
