As the Director Cyber and Architecture Services, you will spearhead the progression and refinement of cyber security measures and enterprise architecture practices at DESI. You will have the privilege of leading a strong and capable internal team, empowering them to excel in their roles and drive a culture of innovation and collaboration. As a direct report to the Chief Digital Officer (CDO), this position is a pivotal leadership role to protect our digital infrastructure and enhance the digital proficiencies of our organisation. The individual in this role must be adept at strategic thinking and hands-on implementation to ensure the successful achievement and delivery of objectives.
As the Director, Cyber and Architecture Services you will:
• Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people and actively engage through our work to contribute to better outcomes for First Nations people.
• Develop, promote, and lead the implementation of a Cyber Security Framework and Roadmap in alignment with the Digital Strategy, Data Strategy and business digital plans, and report to executive leadership on the status of Cyber and information security policy, processes, and compliance.
• Lead, manage and coordinate ongoing threat assessments to identify key risks to the organisation and adoption of relevant treatment plans to contain information security incidents and events, and protect the department's IT assets, intellectual property, regulated data, and reputation.
• Establish relationships with partners, vendors, and policy centres to maintain a contemporary understanding of the cyber threat landscape and maintain best practice enterprise architecture, including Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture (QGEA) industry standards, best practices and compliance
requirements.
• Lead the enterprise architecture practice within the agency, including governance, which promotes the creation, review and updating of relevant artefacts, and supports the availability of contemporary digital capabilities to meet business strategy within the context of the whole of Government strategy.
• Develop and implement initiatives focused on reducing technology risk and ensuring compliance to Queensland Government policies and regulatory standards.
• Provide well-informed advice on innovation and investment opportunities which can influence the effectiveness of the agency's digital assets and/or capabilities.
• Manage the cultural shift required to transition business areas to a whole of department approach to Cyber Security and enterprise architecture through the enhancement of “business as usual” processes.
• Lead and manage team functions through effective human resource and financial management practices, including developing staff through performance, planning and review.
