An exciting new opportunity exists for a Director of Golf at The Riversdale Golf Club, Mount Waverley, Victoria
The Role:Riversdale’s Director of Golf will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Golf Shop and Golf Operations Department in the accordance with the Club’s Strategic Objectives.
The Director of Golf will be responsible for leading and managing the Club’s golf calendar, competitions, golf services employees and financials, retail, practice range, golf carts and golf coaching.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to lead a team to create future leaders and be passionate about delivering quality experiences to members and guests.
The Director of Golf is responsible to the General Manager for all aspects of their position, and liaises with the Course Superintendent, Finance Manager, Membership Administration Manager, Operations Manager and Functions Manager.
It is expected that in successfully performing their duties the Director of Golf will delegate specific responsibilities and tasks to achieve desired outcomes. This will include a Golf Operations Manager and Retail Assistants.
The Director of Golf will be responsible for the financial targets established by the Club.
Key responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Retail Shop and Golf Operations Department in accordance with the Club’s Strategic objectives.
- Oversee and provide guidance for the Golf Operations Manager in regard to all administrative aspects of the department such as timesheets, program of events, and general golf scheduling
- Work closely with the Functions Manager to ensure the successful delivery of Golf events including corporate golf days
- Manage the coaching program, including management of all coaching staff
- Manage the Club’s Cadet Program and continued development and management of the established Junior Development Program in order to continue to develop junior golf at the Club.
- Marketing and Communication of retail offerings and coaching services
- Assist with the facilitation of Men’s and Women’s Pennant when required
- Assist with planning and organising of Club events including Interclub events and the Club’s historic annual event, The Riversdale Cup.
- Prior experience in a similar golf management or golf retail leadership role;
- Previous experience working with MiClub golf software and competition management software;
- Previous experience in a members-based organisation;
- Demonstrated ability to work positively and collaboratively with employees, Members, Committee members and guests;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- A friendly and approachable manner;
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of Golf, rules of Golf, golf facility operations and competition operations;
