MHDAS provides integrated and recovery oriented mental health, drugs and alcohol assessment, treatment and community support to people of all ages within the Barwon region experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, mental health and drug & alcohol issues, and their families.Our service is internationally recognised for its innovative clinical programs and integrated models of practice that are client centred, accessible and family inclusive. We are fortunate to enjoy terrific internal relationships and have developed excellent partnerships with the local community that provide for seamless integrated care for our clients.MHDAS is entering a new phase of co-design of our service system with people who access our services and our wider community. This will build on our nationally recognized unique cultural approach to the challenges of recovery oriented service delivery to redesign our service system.About the RoleThe Director of Nursing and Quality ensures that MHDAS provides high-quality, consumer- and family-focused mental health care. This includes the provision of contemporary and systematic mental health nursing governance and leadership across MHDAS and Barwon Health, ensuring that mental health nursing services are high quality, innovative, evidence based and uphold the Barwon Health MHDAS principles of recovery oriented practice. It also includes oversight and leadership of the Quality Program and Statewide Programs, and the line-management and support of the Allied Health Discipline Seniors so that all disciplines are supported to provide high-quality, evidence-based care. The Director of Nursing and Quality establishes strategies to create a culture that values professional standards, wellbeing, co-design, psychological safety, and collaboration in the delivery of evidence-based care. Essential: Registration with NMBA (Supported by AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with post graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing or a specialist graduate qualification in mental health nursing.
Essential: Clinical mental health background meets classification definitions under appropriate Award/Agreement
Essential: Completion of or currently working towards a post graduate qualification in leadership or management
Essential: Leadership and management skills working in a complex health environment with multiple funding streams.
Essential: Demonstrated ability to participate in major industrial change and to deliver successful outcomes
