Job description

About the Risk, Intelligence and Delivery Team

The Risk, Intelligence and Delivery Team forms an integral part of the Regulatory Operations Division. The Risk, Intelligence & Delivery team is responsible for compliance monitoring, provider level oversight and identification of areas of risk and systemic issues to ensure compliance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme Act 2013 (Cth) (NDIS Act), NDIS rules, NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Code of Conduct and to achieve better outcomes for NDIS participants.

The Commission operates with a risk-responsive approach designed to deliver better scheme compliance while minimising the impact on providers and supporting the delivery of quality services to participants. This approach seeks to keep safeguarding and quality at the forefront of our regulatory activity to address the more serious risks and systematic non-compliance through effective allocation of resources, while avoiding unnecessary costs to the Commission, regulated parties, participants and the Australian community. The team supports the delivery of risk-based compliance monitoring, education and enforcement strategies.

Key Duties
You will support business activities related to strategic initiatives, business planning and operational policy development. You will also support the Deputy Commissioner, Regulatory Operations (Registrar) with broader strategy development and implementation. In this role, you will work with teams across a broad scope of Commission activities and coordinate the delivery of complex and simultaneous initiatives and activities.

The successful candidate will:

  1. Lead a diverse program of work relating to strategy delivery, with a focus on developing a regulatory risk framework and supporting processes and tools.
  2. Guide operational policy development and evaluation, coordinating regulatory activities/initiatives in line with the Commission’s Regulatory Approach.
  3. Guide and support staff to identify and consider regulatory risk in policy, program and regulatory issue management.
  4. Develop effective internal and stakeholder relationships to harness the expertise across the Commission and from other key stakeholders to develop briefings to support the Commissioner and Executive Leaders.
  5. Actively engage with a range of stakeholders to identify and implement improved regulatory risk assessment policy and practice.
