We are seeking an exceptional people leader with a proven history in a Telco / Technology environment. You are a transformational leader that is driven to build new ways of working!

As the Director - Transformation and Reliability you will lead several teams of technical experts who are responsible for Optus' IP and Transport network architecture, automation and reliability initiatives across our network, program management and delivery, and our cyber compliance across Optus' IP and transport network domains.

The role has a significant impact on Optus' IP and transport networks technology evolution, capabilities roadmap, and investment decisions.

This role also supports technical engagement with all Optus customer facing units and contributes to product and capability development. The role manages a substantial capex budget. We are seeking a highly experienced Director with deep technical knowledge of transport and IP networks

The role involves various responsibilities and results, such as;

  • Driving the architecture and reliability of Optus' IP & Transport networks, delivering services for all of our customers.
  • Delivery of automation initiatives across the IP and Transport network, driving efficiency, Reliability and ensuring compliance to cyber and design configurations.
  • Optimisation of the network and application of configuration best practices to the network to ensure the Reliability and performance of the network, as well as leading the resolution of Tier 3 escalated incidents & problems.
  • Tracking and ensuring the management of risks to the IP and Transport networks.
  • Ensuring the alignment of IPNE Annual Operating Plans with the business strategy and future architecture.
  • Approving projects and initiatives within financial delegation, ensuring the group is within budget and policy.
  • Fostering and facilitating world-class innovative solutions.
  • Developing cost models and unit cost metrics, to facilitate year on year network cost efficiency, optimising and reducing unit cost.
  • Leading program governance.
  • Continual improvement relationships with vendors, providing recommendations for vendor strategies and tenders.
  • Being at the forefront of complex global contracts and managing offshore relationships.
