Job description

“Being a Director with C&K has always been a goal for me. Having climbed the ladder and reached my goal; my new goal is to grow, blossom and bloom our beautiful little service into the most warm, welcoming and wholesome place for children to learn and play in that I can make it!’

- Rebecca Barker – Director/Teacher, Hoey Street

For Children. For You. For Always.

Are you ready to make a difference that lasts a lifetime?

At C&K, our purpose is to make a positive impact on children’s lives. It’s what we’ve been doing for more than 115 years. Through evidence-based thinking, hard work and true compassion, we’ve built a trusted reputation as Queensland’s leading provider of early childhood education.

But times are changing, and so are we. And although we’re passionate believers that children come first, we know our people must come first, too.

Join us and find a better way with C&K - for children, for you, for always.

Help shape the future of children in our care

As our highly valued Director Teacher with our Kelso team, you’ll nurture an inclusive, collaborative and supportive team culture where everyone can belong, grow and thrive. Where every day is full of wonder, creativity, imaginative play and led by the interests of your children.

With energy, creativity and care, you’ll lead the delivery of a quality educational program for children aged 0 to 5 years in our play-based learning environment to encourage and nurture children’s learning and development so they can become curious, capable and confident lifelong learners.

You’ll help shape the future of children in our care by taking full ownership of the centre’s operation, documentation and program delivery while building great relationships with our families and the wider community.

What you’ll bring

To thrive and succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification) or a Bachelor of Primary Teaching with an approved diploma-level qualification.
  • First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.
  • Valid Blue Card and current Police Check (within three months or willing to obtain these).
  • A collaborative mindset - when you join C&K, you join a village of good-hearted, talented people, so you can lean on them as they lean on you.

Your strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework and Standards and the Early Years Learning Framework will be crucial to your success.

Why C&K?

Every C&K career helps children belong and grow. We want the same for you.

Here are some things we hope you’ll love about working with us:

For Children.

Joining C&K means impacting a child’s life journey for the time they spend with us and long after they leave. By nurturing a love of learning in our play-based environments, you’re doing something that truly matters – for now and for life.

For You.

So much of what we do depends on you. We’ll set you up for success with a range of benefits, programs and opportunities to help you earn, be well and grow. And you’ll team up with people who value your dedication and care.

For Always.

At C&K, you’ll help shape the future of the children in our care - and there’s so much more we can do. We’re investing and working hard to find better ways, and as a Director Teacher, you’ll be key to helping us set a new standard for our sector.

You’ll also enjoy plenty of other benefits:

  • Get a better deal with $1,000 relocation bonus
  • Be rewarded with a wage of $80,000-$112,000 + Super and salary-sacrificing options.
  • Separate Teacher and Director’s non-contact time, so you can document, plan, and reflect.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices through our C&K College of Early Childhood, and expand your skills and knowledge with training opportunities, ongoing support and experienced mentors who help you achieve.
  • New to the world of teaching? Get the best start to your teaching career with our 12-month Beginning to Teach at C&K program.
  • Live, work and be well with our Employee Assistance Program for you and your family, plus health insurance discounts through Bupa.
  • Find a healthy work-life balance with parental leave, return-to-work support, and family-friendly priority access to C&K childcare centres.
  • We fully fund your Blue Card, Police Check, First Aid, CPR, and Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification.

Join us and find a better way with C&K - for children, for you, for always.

The children, families and communities we support are wonderfully diverse. C&K benefits greatly from a team that brings together many different perspectives and experiences, and we’re proud of our inclusive culture. We strongly encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from all backgrounds.

All C&K employees are required to undergo background checks, including a police check.

We are a 2024 Circle Back Initiative Employer – we commit to respond to every applicant.
