We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Services Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with disabilities by coordinating and delivering a variety of services aimed at promoting independence, inclusion, and overall well-being.
Roles and Responsibilities: -
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs and abilities.
- Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate and facilitate access to a range of support services, including healthcare, education, employment, and community resources.
- Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure they receive appropriate and timely services.
- Foster partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community groups to create inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
- Organize and participate in community events that promote awareness and understanding of disability issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
- Prepare regular reports on service delivery, outcomes, and challenges.
- Provide guidance and support to clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Implement strategies to enhance clients' self-advocacy and decision-making abilities.
- Diploma, Advance diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working in disability services or a similar field.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to disability services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to promoting the rights and well-being of individuals with disabilities.
- This is a full-time permanent job.
- The base salary will be AUD 70,000- AUD 75,000.
Availability to work during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
