As an Employment Consultant for WCN JobCo. no two days are the same. We assist people with disabilities and barriers to achieve life changing employment outcomes. As the ideal candidate, you possess a competitive attitude towards targets and KPIs, you will not be afraid to pick up the phone and network with potential employers to achieve a positive employment opportunity.
The Employment Consultant will work with the Bayside team and report to the DES Area Business Manager.
Duties:
- The successful applicant will work out of our JobCo Dandenong office.
- Assisting job seekers who have a mental, physical or sensory condition gain suitable ongoing sustainable employment.
- Actively reverse market clients directly to employers into targeted employment areas
- Enrolling job seekers into suitable training courses, RSA, RSG, RSF, White Card, Barista, Apprenticeships/Traineeships, MR/HR license etc
- Motivate clients in successfully achieving their career outcomes.
- Ensuring that job seekers are meeting their Centrelink requirements with attending weekly/fortnightly appointments and monthly job searching.
- Helping our job seekers job search by using online (job portals) and offline (direct employer contacts) resources
- Helping job seekers to create their resumes, cover letters and other supporting documents.
- Entering and updating all client contact file notes accordingly
- We service Pre-Release Prisoners', NDIS clients, Eligible School Leavers, Job seekers on the Job Seeking Payment, DSP recipients & Principal Careers to assist them in finding suitable and sustainable ongoing employment.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated ability to work towards and achieve/exceed targets
- Interest in assisting job seekers with medical conditions, disabilities or illnesses to obtain ongoing sustainable employment
- Sales and relationship building skills to effectively reverse market Job Seekers to prospective employers.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong computer skills
- Proficiency in outlook, word, excel
- Ability to develop relationships with employers and other key stakeholders (Customer Service Background would be beneficial).
- Someone who can deal with conflict management
- A self-motivated autonomous worker
- Someone able to work effectively in a heavily monitored environment
- Prior experience in Disability Employment Services or related fields are highly regarded but not required

Must have’s:
