ABOUT YOU
You are energetic and like to keep busy at work. And you are equally happy to work a sleepover or an awake shift.
Quality applicants will also have the appropriate disability qualifications of Cert III or higher and a minimum of one year experience (casual, part- or full-time employment) in disability care. In the absence of formal qualifications, we may consider applicants with two years' experience as a Carer.
You will have a calm temperament, a solid work ethic and English language skills suitable to perform the work. You are confident with meal preparation. You are also capable of engaging clients in sport and/or musical pursuits. Additionally, you also hold current:
- CPR and First Aid certificates
- Flu and Covid vaccinations (including current booster)
- Certificates for completed NDIS Orientation and Induction modules
- Working with Children clearance - Blue Card
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance - Yellow Card. (Successful applicants will be advised on how to apply for Blue and Yellow Cards.)
ABOUT THE ROLE
In-Home Carers provide personal care, domestic assistance or home maintenance (e.g. meals, cleaning, disability support) for adults with disability in a private residence. Duties include:
- Preparing meals and assisting with life skills
- Completing household chores
- Supporting clients in preferred activities
- Attending medical appointments
- Helping residents develop social skills, problem solving and independent living skills appropriate to their age and developmental level
- Providing personal care
- Administering medication etc.
- Completing records and reports
