We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated person to joinour team in the capacity of Disability Services Officer to provide invaluableassistance to our members striving to live independently at their own homes andchosen communities. This is a rewarding role where you will play a crucial partin enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing various challenges.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Assessment and Planning:

·       Evaluate members' needs and formulate tailorededucational, training, and support programs.

·       Develop and implement comprehensive plans toaddress specific challenges and promote independence.

2.      Member Interaction:

·       Conduct interviews to understand the nature andextent of difficulties faced by members.

·       Regularly monitor and report on members'progress, making necessary adjustments to support plans.

3.      Referral and Collaboration:

·       Refer members to external agencies foradditional support as needed.

·       Collaborate with community groups, welfareagencies, government bodies, and private businesses to address communityissues.

4.      Community Engagement:

·       Assess community needs and resources related tohealth, welfare, housing, employment, and training.

·       Promote awareness of community resources andservices to facilitate access and utilization.

5.      Family Support:

·       Provide support to families and offer educationand care for children and disabled individuals in various settings, includingadult service units, group housing, and government institutions.

6.      Social Problem Solving:

·       Assist young people in resolving social,emotional, and financial problems to promote well-being and stability.

7.      Documentation and Reporting:

·       Prepare detailed submissions for funding andresource allocation.

·       Compile reports for government bodies and otheragencies, ensuring accurate and transparent documentation.

8.      Qualifications and Skills:

·       Relevant qualification/experience in disabilitysupport or a related field

·       Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Empathy and patience when working withindividuals facing challenges.

·       Ability to work independently andcollaboratively within a team.

·       Experience in preparing submissions and reportsis desirable.

ANNUAL SALARY: From $70,000 to 80,000.
