MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE

shiny things is a family run business that employs people who are living gems and wonderful human beings. We also provide disability support services to precious individuals with ASD, ID and mental health challenges. The people we support live in the Kwinana / Rockingham areas.

The qualifications you need for this role includes life skills, compassion, and the will to make a difference. You also need to be comfortable being uncomfortable as you learn about life, the universe, and everything!

A BIT ABOUT OUR NDIS PARTICIPANTS' NEEDS

  1. a male NDIS participant living with a psychosocial disability is looking for male workers overnight 6pm-6am twice a week. No personal care. He enjoys the company of support workers who are robust, confident and compassionate. This is regular ongoing work PLUS covers. Reliability is ESSENTIAL.
  2. female NDIS participants living with intellectual and/or psychosocial disability are looking for mature female workers to support them to look after their homes and access the community. They've requested that members of their support team have great personal and professional boundaries.
  3. two male NDIS participant are looking for good cooks and good company from workers supporting them to do daily activities, get to appointments, and maintain their respective homes. Both are smokers and live with physical and mental challenges (no personal care involved). Again, compassion and good boundaries are needed from their support team members.

All the participants we support enjoy workers who are active, organised, innovative, have a sense of adventure, and will support them to activities such as fishing, camping, outings, church, rock concerts, community events and lots more. If you're good to execute a last-minute outing by the seat of your pants then you're definitely someone our participants will relate to!

HOURS:

Day, night, short shifts, long shifts - regular shifts or random shifts - both - let's talk about what suits you. We have 9am-2pm Mon-Fri covered so please apply if you're into committing to earlier starts, later finishes, weekends, public holidays, and overnights.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Maintaining a home (light household and garden), getting out to shop, going to the beach or fishing or the footy. Prompting, mentoring, organising and empowering. Camping, crafting or contemplating. You will support people to life their ‘good life'. BYO superpowers and interests to the role!

This position does NOT require vaccination under the Public Health Act as there are no residential care shifts involved. NDIS Screening is not required to apply as we accept other ways to satisfy industry expectations.
