We offer community, home and living, coordination, and centre-based supports to nearly 200 individuals. About the Role:
We are seeking a Disability Support Worker to join a team supporting a man in his mid-20s who lives with autism spectrum disorder in Brunswick, Melbourne. By understanding the individual's needs, preferences, required support dynamics, and nuances, a stable and predictable support environment has been created.
Common duties will involve supporting the individual to:
- Plan activities throughout the week
- Manage his state and engage in positive behaviors
- Complete domestic activities
- Access the community as part of a routine
Successful applicants will:
- This young man enjoys outdoor activities, and it is preferred that the person who will work with him is fit and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking
- Be calm, relaxed and patient
- Be consistent in the way you deliver supports and be able to maintain structure and predictability in the weekly routine.
- Be able to take direction from a family or Allied Health team.
Days and hours of support needed:
The weekly shift will be 12 hours, with the potential for additional hours.
Note: Must have a driver’s license, own car preferred.

- NDIS Workers Screening Check (or prepared to undertake)
- Australian residency or right to work in Australia
- Current driver's license and access to a vehicle for work-related purpose. A kilometre allowance will be paid when your vehicle is used for work purposes
- Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (3x)

Salary:
The starting salary is at Level 2 Pay Point 1, with a base rate of $32.21. For casual staff there is a 25% loading.
