Legacy Lifestyle Supports is looking for multiple enthusiastic and flexible Support Workers to provide active assistance to people living with various disabilities.
We currently have 3 positions for casuals working up to 40 hours/week each. These positions have the potential to become permanent for the right applicant.
The people we offer services to are unique and diverse. They are interested in working with support staff who pay attention to their individual circumstances and who are prepared to listen to what is important to them! The role you're applying for will offer opportunities to learn and develop your professional practice within a small and supportive team that hold our values at the centre of all we do. Some of our customers live with complex challenges that require innovative thinking to negotiate.
Successful applicants MUST have:
- Clear spoken English.
- Minimum Certificate 3 in Individual Support (disability), Community Services, Mental Health, or other relevant qualification
- DHS/DCSI Clearance (disability-related & working with children)
- Senior First Aid and CPR certificate
- Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate (or RAN)
Highly Desirable:
- Certificate 4 in Individual Support (disability), Community Services, Mental Health, or other relevant qualification
- NDIS Screening Clearance
- Australian Driver’s License
- Reliable car for use of private vehicle and willingness to provide vehicle safety checks and have full comprehensive car insurance.
This role requires that you are able to:
- Follow daily tasks, activities, and schedule to ensure a safe comfortable living environment, always maintaining professionally appropriate engagement.
- Provide support and services to our customers that keeps them at the centre of all you do whilst at work,
- Encourage our customers to be engaged in their own lives and their community in a way that feels valuable to them,
- Be an effective role model for our customers and carry out all tasks and functions in accordance with relevant NDIS and company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues to achieve objectives identified by and with the organisation and our customers.
A successful applicant must demonstrate:
- Experience supporting people with disabilities.
- Willingness to learn or prior experience supporting people with emotional and sensory regulation and safe management of challenging behaviours.
- Strong inclusive approach and strength-based mindset
- Ability to promote appropriate professional boundaries.
- A high level of communication skills
- Good problem solving skills and innovative approach to assisting people to work towards their goals.
