Form of workAn opening exists for a part time Disability Support Worker with a strong rehabilitation focus role, working for an adult male with high care needs, he is non-verbal and lives in the family home in the Coombabah area. The role is to provide one to one support for all his daily needs.
This is an interesting and active role including personal care and a rehabilitation program. Preference is for mature applicants with previous experience in both areas. You will be a part of a small team of dedicated workers.
Shifts:
- Friday – 5pm Overnight until 8am Saturday
- Saturday - 8pm Overnight until 8am Sunday
- Flexibility / Availability to pick up extra shifts
*The gentleman is not awake overnight, Support Workers have their own room next door*
Duties:
- Personal care
- Daily Living
- Assistance with eating and drinking
- Transport
Applicant requirements:
- A mature outlook and approach
- Good level of physical fitness
- Certificate 3 in Individual Support or experience working in the sector for +3 years
- Experience in personal care, hoist, wheelchair etc
- Reliability and enthusiasm
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Current Open Queensland Driver’s License.
- Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or willing to obtain
- Covid Vaccination Certificate
- NDIS Orientation Module Certificate or willing to obtain before start date
