AddressIm With You is a disability services organisation that supplies qualified Disability Support Workers to clients who are living with a disability.
We are currently looking for a qualified Disability Support Worker to work with one of our clients who has an incomplete spinal cord injury.
Part of your role will be the following:
- Household cleaning tasks
- Meal preparation and cooking
- Assistance with personal hygiene needs
- Assistance with administering medications
- Assistance with walking their dogs
- Assistance with light massage and stretching exercises
- Travelling with the client to and from appointments that have been set down and to assist wherever possible
To be successful in the position, you must demonstrate the following:
- Completion of Certificate 3 in Disability Support (minimum)
- Being pro active in your day to day duties
- Able to be available to work on a 24 hour a day / 7 day a week rostering system.
- English to be your first language
- Competent in using manual handling equipment including transfer of the client who is over 140kgs.
- Have computer skills in using Microsoft Office Systems as well as other systems for rostering, Human Resources and progress notes.
- Have a pro active attitude when on shift
- Light hearted and bubbly personality
