About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with a disability in your local Southern and Central Canberra community. We have casual roles available, providing active, person centred support to people with disability within our Lifestyle support settings. You will actively participate in and support clients in their own homes and with accessing the community. This may include domestic assistance as well as personal care. You will be responsible for client transportation within the community and you will need to travel between clients throughout the day, so a valid and unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence in a mandatory requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Personal care and domestic assistance (light cleaning)
- Community access and transportation
- Maintain and monitor person centred plans
- Documenting and progress note keeping
- Develop rapport and strong relationships with the people we support and their families
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in Disability and a qualification in Community Welfare, Disability or similar will be highly regarded
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build relationships and strong rapport with clients and their families
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and own registered and reliable vehicle
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Vulnerable People Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a minimum of two (2) doses or hold a valid medical exemption certificate, in accordance with Life Without Barriers Employee COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
