About the Role
We are currently recruiting for experienced Disability Support Workers within our SIL services at our North Lakes locations. In this role, no day will be like the other and you can look forward to variety and rewarding shifts.
Working alongside clients with differing support needs you will provide them with the assistance they require to live independently in their own homes.
In a typical day you will perform the following supports:
- Helping with domestic duties, shopping, meal preparation and other housework;
- Ensuring safe and hygienic living conditions in their own homes;
- Assisting with activities of daily living;
- Personal care, including showering, dressing, manual lifting, continence/ bowel care / skin integrity checks, wound care etc;
- Community access out and about in the community;
- Adhering to the clients' care plan.
About you
Ideally you have gained experience working in the disability sector finding great reward by creating a genuine impact by making a difference in the lives of others. You are a caring, empathetic individual, with a deep understanding of the importance of providing quality support to clients. You pride yourself on well developed communication and relationship building skills as you know that you are a trusted person in our clients' homes.
Key Selection Criteria
- Ongoing availability to commit to regular weekday (morning and afternoon), sleepover and weekend shifts
- Experience providing excellent customer service
- A current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- A current driver's licence and willingness to use your own insured and reliable vehicle for work purposes
- NDIS worker screening card or eligibility to obtain at own cost
- Physical capacity to carry out the duties required, including house- & manual handling work
- Proof of Covid 19 vaccination record
- The ability to be flexible and adapt to changes
- A keen eye for detail with a focus on improving client experiences
