About the Role:
Drake Medox are seeking enthusiastic and hard-working Support Workers for to do inactive sleepover for our client in St Albans.
Our client is living in St Albans with a complex spinal cord injury and requires additional Support Workers to join their team on a casual basis. Our ideal candidate would receive client specific training with stable, consistent hours.
The right candidate will need to meet the following criteria:
- +6 month manual handling experience (using hoist machines and slings)
- Experience with providing personal care - this includes bladder and bowel care and assistance with showering
- Have knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia
- Be proactive and a quick learner
- Has a fun and bubbly personality and great sense of humour
- Experience in managing challenging or unacceptable behaviours
You must currently have:
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance
- Valid Australian Driver's License
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Nationally accredited Manual Handling Certificate
- Nationally accredited Medication Administration Certificate
- Certificate IV in Disability or other relevant qualifications or experience is preferred
- Availability for short shift fills 07:00am-10:00am and 16:00pm-19:00pm shifts
Duties:
- Full assistance with personal care and manual handling
- Bowel/bladder care this includes daily bowel care and SPC management
- Full assistance with pressure area care
- Medication management
- Supporting the client in achieving their set goals for the day
- Participate in recreational activities and engage with community
- Light household duties & meal preparation
