We are looking for fun and passionate Disability Support Workers/ Therapy Assistants to work with our teenage and young adult clients in their homes and communities on a casual basis. You will be working with clients with a range of conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, anxiety and coordination challenges. We are accepting Support Workers applications from all over Melbourne.
Rising Youth Occupational Therapy is a small Occupational Therapy practice that works with youth and young adults to build independence in all areas of life.
As a Support Worker/ Therapy Assistant your role may vary from client to client however your responsibilities may include:
- Transporting a client in the community or assisting them to access public transport
- Supporting a client to engage in social activities or activities of interest
- Supporting self care and domestic tasks in the home such as dressing and meal preparation
- Supporting the development of skills as part of their Occupational Therapy plan
As a Support Worker/ Therapy Assistant you should have:
- Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and/ or intellectual disabilities (required)
- Current Police Check or willingness to obtain
- Valid Australian Driver's License and reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate or willingness to obtain
- NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain
- You must be fully vaccinated against COVID19
