Multiple casual Disability Support Worker /Personal Care Assistant opportunities within Northern, Western and Southeastern suburbs of Melbourne and regional Victoria. Initially based in Cremorne.
24 Hour Priority Care Australia (24HPCA) is looking for experienced, qualified, and professional Disability Support Workers passionate about providing tailored in home care services in a variety of locations across Melbourne and regional Victoria, including Cremorne, near Richmond.
About the Role:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team working directly with clients, whilst maintaining a compassionate, safe and positive environment.
Key duties may include:
- Provide personal care with dignity that respects the individual and their family members. This may include:
- Showering, bathing, dressing the individual
- Attending and dressing immobility wounds
- Massaging and moisturising arms and legs
- Cooking and assisting with feeding the individual
- Completing household chores; bathroom, floors, laundry as required
- Mobility assistance for access to appointments and community
- Support the involvement of family and community where possible.
- Your most important role will be to provide a listening ear and caring presence that empowers and supports the individual and family's choice

About You:
Our ideal Disability Support Worker will showcase strong interpersonal skills and be able to quickly develop rapport with vulnerable people and their families. You will be able to think on your feet and work autonomously as required. Remain calm and level-headed under pressure and have knowledge of how to build strong relationships with the individuals and families in your care.
Your greatest asset will be your ability to listen!
What you will bring:
- A background in aged care, disability or home and community care preferred
- A Certificate IV or above qualification in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support or Nursing
- A genuine respect for cultural diversity in your approach to providing care
- Ability to embrace the provision of tailored personal care as required by the individual and their families.
- 22558VIC Supporting People with Disability to Use Medications Course.
- Current First Aid Certificate with up-to-date CPR.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate.
- Current Working with Children Check (employee).
- Police Check - Valid within the last 12 months.
- Minimum P2 - Victorian Driver's License.
- Reliable transport.
- Right to work or equivalent.
- The ability to work in a variety of shifts in different locations
In addition, If you have also completed the following Residential Care Industry Mandatory units:
- CHCPRT009 - Provide primary residential care / CHCPRT033 Provide support to children and youth in out of home care.
- CHCPRT010 / CHCPRT034 - Work with children and young people with complex trauma and attachment issues and needs.
- CHCMHS007 - Work effectively in trauma informed care.
- CHCCCS009 - Facilitate responsible behaviour.
