Position Description

We are currently seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to provide care for a our clients in Bundaberg. 

The ideal candidates will provide comprehensive support, including assistance with daily living, personal care, communication, and engagement in educational and recreational activities. Our clients requires intensive support and training will be provided accordingly.

• Location: Bundaberg, QLD
• Training: Thorough training provided with support on hand
• Start Date: Immediate

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with daily living activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients.
• Providing emotional support and helping with emotion regulation.
• Facilitating communication, including the use of assistive technologies as needed.
• Assisting with personal care tasks, maintaining dignity and respect.
• Engaging our clients in social and recreational activities.
• Implementing behaviour management strategies, as guided by healthcare professionals.
• Accompanying our client on community outings, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Experience in supporting individuals with complex needs.
• Understanding of mental and psychosocial conditions.
• Proficiency in behaviour management and communication strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with complex needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A Certificate 3 in Disability or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
