As a Residential Support Worker you will provide assistance with daily living supports in our residential home settings. Our accommodation services operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. No two days are the same and can include:
- encouraging and promoting the customer’s personal choice and control, empowering them at all times.
- accompanying on outings and chosen activities like shopping, social events, appointments, work etc.
- assisting them with personal hygiene, showering, dressing etc
- providing and/or assisting with, all aspects of daily living including household duties such as cleaning, washing and cooking, getting up in the morning through to going to bed at night.
This role involves the requirement for sleepovers and weekend work.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, including good listening skills
- Take accountability and can be trusted to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Are available to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings and weekends. There is also the requirement to work sleepovers as part of a rotating roster.
- Are creative and pro-active with regards to how you provide support, always striving to improve experiences
- Understand and champion positive behaviour support practices
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant will also ideally have:
- Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Certificate IV in Disability/Community Services (preferred) or relevant industry experience
- A valid Victorian Drivers License
- NDIS New Worker Orientation Completion Certificate
- Full COVID-19 vaccination as we are Authorised Workers.
