Position Title: Disability Team Leader
Overview: As a Disability Team Leader, you will be at the forefront of championing inclusivity and empowerment within our organization. You will lead a dedicated team committed to providing support, advocacy, and resources for individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have equal opportunities for success and participation.
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide strong leadership to a team of professionals dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities. Inspire and motivate team members to deliver their best while fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment.
Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement innovative programs and initiatives that address the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. Continuously assess program effectiveness and make adjustments as needed to ensure maximum impact.
Advocacy: Serve as a vocal advocate for individuals with disabilities both within the organization and in the broader community. Work to promote awareness, understanding, and acceptance of disability issues while advocating for policies and practices that promote inclusivity and accessibility.
Support Services: Oversee the delivery of a wide range of support services, including but not limited to accessibility accommodations, assistive technology resources, and personal assistance services. Ensure that services are tailored to meet the individual needs of each client.
Training and Development: Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in working with individuals with disabilities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments and external organizations to ensure a coordinated and holistic approach to supporting individuals with disabilities. Build partnerships and networks to leverage resources and maximize impact.
Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to disability rights and accessibility. Ensure that all programs and services comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, disability studies) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in the field of disability services, with 1 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of disability rights, accessibility issues, and best practices in disability services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in relevant technology and assistive devices.
