The Opportunity:
Healthy Ageing Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Disabled Carer, who will offer vital support to the elderly and individuals with disabilities in South Australia. In this role, you will provide essential assistance with daily activities, foster independence, and safeguard the well-being of our clients. Tasks and Responsibilities include:
- Deliver personal care based on individual client plans.
- Help with personal hygiene such as bathing and dressing.
- Make and serve meals, help with eating if needed.
- Help manage medications with healthcare guidance.
- Encourage participation in leisure and community events.
- Do basic cleaning and upkeep of client's living spaces.
- Observe and report on client health and mood shifts.
- Keep detailed records of care and any significant events.
- Offer emotional support and companionship.
- Work with the healthcare team for comprehensive client care.
Essential Criteria:
- Current Drivers' license (Travel requirements for this position are minimal)
- Current Police Clearance
- Minimum of 2 COVID-19 vaccinations
- Empathy and understanding towards the needs of individuals with disabilities and older people
- An understanding of the NDIS principles, policies and operational guidelines, and familiarity with disability legislation the standards.
- Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate III or higher qualification or have at least 2 years of recent and relevant work experience in the last 5 years, to substitute a formal qualification.
- Must be able to demonstrate a minimum 1 year within the last 3 years of work experience in the disability care sector;
Desirable Criteria (non-essential):
- Candidates with fluency in an additional language are encouraged to apply.
- Candidates with experience in mental health are encouraged to apply.
