Summary:

Due to their strong ongoing growth, the business is now seeking compassionate and motivated individuals to join their team as Disabled Carers/Disability Support Workers on full time ongoing basis.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide a range of personal care tasks as outlined within the Behaviour Support Plan and the Support Plan, which enables participants to maintain their desired standards of personal care, hygiene and independence within their own home in accordance with the organisational protocols and procedures.
• Assist the participant, as determined by the Behaviour Support Plan and Support Plan, with household/ environmental tasks which are prioritised in relation to the personal care, support functions and personal goals in accordance with organisational protocols and procedures.
• Maintain accurate, factual records as required, in addition to monitoring and reporting the participant’s (changing) needs according to service protocols and procedures.
• Undertake a range of domestic/household assistance, and other associated activities as determined by the participant's plan, to assist the participant with daily living requirements, ensuring the cleaning of the house areas regularly used by the participant. These include: bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, laundries, living areas and bedrooms, making of bed and hanging out/bringing in washing in accordance with the organisational protocols and procedures.
• Ensure assistance to recipients, as determined by the plan, through social support and monitoring which enhances family and community interaction.
• Comply with Aspiring Futures SA's Work Health and Safety policies and procedures with respect to any action taken by Aspiring Futures SA to comply with its requirements under legislation.
• Report any issues experienced during service to the Co-ordination Team.
• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and for the safety of others who may be affected by your behaviours or omissions whilst in the workplace.
• Maintain and improve any equipment, standards or procedures provided in the interest of health, safety and welfare in pursuance of any provision of the WHS Act or Regulations.
• Attend team meetings and training sessions to maintain professional standards.
• Participate in supervision and annual performance reviews and perform all other reasonable duties as directed.
• Ability to prioritise time and organise work according to directed tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
• Ability to undertake repetitious, physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to undertake further training in the field.
• Basic administrative skills in completion of timesheets, travel records, record keeping and related correspondence.
• Maintaining appropriate documentation and administration requirements in relation to the participant to required standard.
• Ability to communicate effectively and emphatically with participants.
• Ability to work without direct supervision, but within directed framework.
• Ability to cooperate and communicate with the Team Leader, Service Coordinator and other staff.
• A willingness to adhere towards Aspiring Futures SA's, standards, protocols, policies and procedures and continuous improvement strategies.
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
• Certificate III in Disability Services or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience in relevant role.
• Current First Aid, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration (CPR) certifications.
• Possess a current South Australian Driver's License and full rights to work in Australia.
• Effective communication skills, including non-verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Flexible to work across a 24/7 roster, respecting cultural and social diversity.
• Full COVID vaccination (or hold a valid medical exemption certificate )and COVID-19 Infection Control Training.
• National Criminal History Check.
• Current Working with Children's Check.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety and You.
• A reliable vehicle (including comprehensive car insurance).
• Access and use of a Smart Phone.
• Flexible availability - Reasonable additional hours of work may be required should the need arise.
• Able to meet 100 points of ID requirements
• Child safe environment training would be advantageous.
